Job Description
Altera, a member of the N. Harris Computer Corporation family, is seeking a Systems Support Engineer to assist with day-to-day operations and participate in organizational projects. This role focuses on installing, implementing, configuring, upgrading, and optimizing the performance of application systems and databases required to operate Altera Software Development and QA environments.
Responsibilities:
- Providing premium client services and tracking ongoing issues.
- Delivering weekly/monthly client read-outs and presentations.
- Serving as the client's point of contact for application/database performance issues.
- Utilizing AppDynamics to monitor and evaluate application performance.
- Identifying, qualifying, and driving issues/bugs to resolution.
- Keeping track of identified issues/fixes across the client base.
- Assessing complex application and database performance issues.
- Identifying known issues and establishing operational workflows.
- Preparing necessary technical and operational documentation.
- Participating in technical/leadership calls to provide updates.
- Working in a 24*7 operational environment with rotational shifts.
- Handling Level 2 analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience in supporting and monitoring DynaTrace/AppDynamics/NewRelic or similar APM tools.
- Experience in Windows server infrastructure and .Net-based Application Support (IIS, worker process thread, Web config, Certificate binding, Event Logs).
- Knowledge of Server Performance metrics (CPU, Memory, Queue length, MSMQ, I/O, Page writes, Perfmon, etc.).
- Experience with Windows cluster, COM+, Log Parser.
- Intermediate to Professional level of experience in SQL (SQL Jobs, SQL queries, Blocking, Always On).
- Experience with ITSM tools such as Service desk/ServiceNow.
- Basic knowledge of ITIL framework.
- International support experience with good command of English.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/IT.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
