Job Description
Xapo Bank is seeking a Compliance Officer to join their global team. This role is based in Gibraltar but is 100% remote. The Compliance Officer will report to the Head of Compliance and will be an integral part of the global Compliance team, ensuring the maintenance of an effective compliance monitoring, anti-money laundering, and advisory program while meeting all regulatory compliance obligations. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience in the blockchain and virtual assets space, contributing to Xapo VASP and its regulatory developments in crypto-native offerings and the integration of blockchain-based payments to Xapo Bank.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring the regulatory landscape and assessing its impact on Xapo.
  • Conducting compliance reviews and analysis of new regulatory developments.
  • Maintaining and updating Compliance policies and procedures.
  • Supporting the execution of the Compliance monitoring program.
  • Executing day-to-day operational Compliance activities.
  • Independently investigating and acting on matters related to Compliance.
  • Providing guidance, advice, and training to improve business understanding of regulatory requirements.

Requirements:
  • Experience within regulators, banks, VASPs, investment, or complex financial services firms.
  • Operational knowledge of running a sound compliance program with an understanding of regulatory requirements for Gibraltar in accordance with global regulatory standards.
  • Understanding of blockchain analytics and monitoring tools.
  • Experience with account opening and processing complex accounts.
  • Relevant experience of anti-financial crime controls and processes.
  • Relevant experience in virtual assets compliance and risk monitoring positions
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships with peers, colleagues and with remote based teams with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
