Monzo is seeking a Lead Machine Learning Scientist to join their Operations team. This role is pivotal in leveraging machine learning techniques to enhance customer support experiences. The Lead Machine Learning Scientist will be responsible for transforming customer service by using state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, including LLMs, to understand customer problems, developing human-in-the-loop systems, and improving the efficiency of customer support.

This role involves:
  • Understanding customer problems and support needs.
  • Routing customers to the appropriate support staff.
  • Automating customer support through autonomous agents.
  • Assisting customer support with decision-making and pattern detection.


Monzo is looking for someone who has:
  • A track record of leading the technical work of a team in the development and deployment of advanced Machine Learning models.
  • Experience developing and shipping deep learning, graph-based, and/or sequence-based ML architectures to production.
  • Extensive experience writing production Python code and a strong command of SQL.
  • Comfort using Python and SQL, and keen to learn Go lang.
