Job Description

Crossbeam, now joined with Reveal, is seeking a Software Engineer for their Data Team in Paris. This role is crucial for developing and maintaining Crossbeam’s backend systems and data pipelines, focusing on scalability and performance.Responsibilities:

• Consistently ship features and enhancements.
• Work across the application stack, focusing on data engineering and backend development.
• Create, test, and deploy high-quality code in Clojure.
• Optimize performance of pipeline execution plans.
• Use Datadog to monitor and improve system performance.
• Address support issues and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers and other teams to launch new features.
• Provide tools and guidelines for seamless data processing.
• Continuously learn and contribute to the team.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in a professional engineering team.
• Experience with backend development (Clojure preferred).
• Proven experience building scalable data pipelines.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Temporal, Airflow).
• Hands-on experience optimizing query plans and data structures (Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Knowledge of documentation best practices.
• Ability to collaborate with different teams.
• Adaptability to work asynchronously with a distributed team.
