Senior Decision Scientist at Monzo

Monzo is seeking a Senior Decision Scientist to join their Borrowing team. This role is pivotal in enhancing customer and business outcomes through advanced automated decision-making, leveraging Machine Learning and statistical modeling. Based in London, Cardiff or remotely within the UK, the successful candidate will contribute to the development and deployment of ML models across various borrowing products.

The Senior Decision Scientist will be part of a skilled team, working with established toolings for the complete lifecycle of ML models. They will have the autonomy to innovate in data, methodologies, and toolings to improve model development speed and quality. Close collaboration with Credit Strategy Analysts, Model Validation Analysts, Backend Engineers, and Product Managers will be essential to align model development with the product roadmap.

Role involves:

• Improving customer and business outcomes through better automated decisioning.
• Using Machine Learning and Statistical modelling.
• Credit risk modelling.
• Predicting and optimizing utilization, pricing, collection and marketing.
• Experiment design and data curation, to deployment and monitoring.

Requirements:

• Excellent SQL and Python skills.
• In-depth knowledge of statistical and machine learning models.
• Experience of end-to-end model development and maintenance of ML models.
• Great attention to details while keeping an eye on the big picture.
• Excellent communication skills.
