Android Engineer at Monzo

Monzo is seeking an Android Engineer to contribute to the evolution of their native mobile application. The role involves crafting polished user experiences and striking a balance between well-tested, resilient code and rapid iteration. The Android Engineer will collaborate with a small, autonomous product squad comprising iOS Engineers, Backend Engineers, User Researchers, Product Designers, Product Managers, QA Testers, and Data Scientists.

This role offers the opportunity to shape how over 11 million people interact with their finances. The Android Engineer will be responsible for overall company goals, contributing to both the what and how of the product.

Responsibilities include:

• Evolving Monzo's native mobile app.
• Building polished user experiences.
• Collaborating within a small, autonomous product squad.
• Impacting both what and how the product is built.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• A care about the impact their work has on our customers.
• Excitement and experience in programming in Kotlin.
• Experience shipping and iterating on at least one app in the Play Store.
• A product mindset focused on customer outcomes and data-informed decisions.
• Comfort in turning excellent design into beautiful products.
• Comfort working in a team that deals with ambiguity.
• Understanding of computer science principles.

Monzo Offers:
