Job Description
Harbinger Motors is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for Thermal commodity. The SQE will ensure the quality of thermal components, cables, and assemblies. This role involves collaboration with suppliers, engineering, and production teams to maintain quality standards, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement. The SQE acts as a liaison between the company and its suppliers to ensure components meet technical specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.Responsibilities include defining quality standards, inspecting materials, developing quality control systems, supplier selection, PPAP, leading APQP, and determining corrective actions.
What this role involves: - Collaborating with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conducting supplier audits for thermal and electromechanical components.
- Developing and implementing supplier performance metrics.
- Working with suppliers to develop corrective action plans.
- Establishing and validating supplier processes for thermal components.
- Conducting incoming inspections and quality checks.
- Reviewing and approving supplier documentation.
- Participating in the supplier selection process.
- Leading weekly calls with suppliers.
- Participating in design reviews.
- Monitoring and reporting on supplier performance metrics.
- Investigating and resolving quality issues.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leading MRB meetings and acting as a quality representative for the engineering change control board.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
- 3-9 years of experience in manufacturing quality or supplier quality engineering.
- Strong knowledge of thermal management systems and electromechanical assembly processes.
- Working experience with IPC 600, IPC 610, IPC 620, and USCAR standards.
- Strong understanding of quality core tools (QMS, audits, APQP, SPC, PPAP, FMEA, MSA).
- Proficiency in ISO 9001:2018 or IATF 16949 standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong understanding of High Voltage components and box builds and assembly processes.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (30-50%).
