Monzo is seeking a Backend Engineer III to join their team and contribute to building their in-house banking platform. The Backend Engineer will collaborate within a squad of diverse professionals, including product managers, marketers, designers, and other engineers, to enhance and support specific aspects of Monzo's services. Monzo's squads operate within collectives such as Core Banking, Business Banking, Wealth, Borrowing, Growth, Payments, Platform, Fincrime, Security & Expansion. The role involves:
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
- Building and supporting Monzo's platform.
- Making data-informed decisions to improve customer outcomes.
- Working with distributed systems and resilient software.
- Strong backend experience.
- A product mindset with a focus on customer outcomes.
- Comfort working in ambiguous environments.
- Experience with strongly-typed languages (e.g., Go, Java, C, Scala).
- A base salary of £75,000 - £105,000 plus stock options.
- Relocation assistance to the UK.
- Visa sponsorship.
- Flexible working hours and remote work options within the UK.
- A learning budget of £1,000 per year.
