Job Description
Kroll Bond Rating Agency, LLC (KBRA) is seeking an Associate to join their Project Finance and Infrastructure team. The role involves assigning new ratings and providing surveillance for project finance and infrastructure entities. The Associate will complete the rating process by analyzing cash flows, evaluating technical aspects of projects, reviewing credit documentation, transaction structures, and financial statements, and preparing internal credit reports for rating committees.KBRA is a full-service credit rating agency registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as an NRSRO.
Responsibilities: - Assign new ratings and complete surveillance for complex infrastructure and energy project finance transactions.
- Forecast future performance using mathematical models.
- Prepare internal credit reports and submissions for rating committees.
- Analyze cash flows and evaluate the legal, contractual, and technical aspects of a project.
- Review and stress financial models to assess credit risk.
- Attend industry conferences and seminars to promote KBRA.
- Share KBRA’s credit view with investors on existing transactions and market developments.
- Write research pieces on the status of the project finance market.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, management, or related field.
- 3-5 years of prior experience in the offered role or as a credit risk analyst.
- Experience performing credit analysis in a rating agency, buy-side, credit research, banking, or similar environment.
- Experience utilizing financial, statistical, and economic analysis skills for financial modeling and cash flow analysis.
- Experience writing research reports and presenting research and analysis to senior committee members.
- Experience creating and modifying project and infrastructure finance models.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and shortcuts, to analyze large datasets.
- Experience with deal execution or credit risk analysis of power and renewables project financings.
- Experience with deal execution or credit risk analysis of project and infrastructure finance transactions.
