Job Description
Verkada is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Camera Foundation team. This role involves developing and enhancing the software infrastructure supporting Verkada's cloud camera ecosystem. The engineer will work across stacks, including backend, frontend, and embedded systems, to deliver cutting-edge solutions. The position is based in San Mateo, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of large-scale, high-performance backend systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain the software infrastructure for our cloud camera products.
- Optimize and enhance the performance of existing software components.
- Mentor junior software engineers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields.
- 4+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.
- Familiar with at least one of C++, Python, or Golang.
- Strong background in scalable backend design, with the ability to make sound design decisions.
- Familiar with common cloud-based technologies and services.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
