Monzo is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for people, product and technical leadership within cross-functional autonomous teams.

The role involves:
  • Taking accountability for delivery across squad(s).
  • Fostering a high bar for engineering excellence.
  • Leading, supporting, coaching and developing engineers.
  • Driving technical initiatives to raise the bar for engineering practices.
  • Leading communication with stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with the wider engineering organization.

Requirements:
  • Strong technical and delivery background.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguous problem areas with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Delivery experience and ability to guide the squads in achieving their outcomes.
  • Ability to input, understand and challenge engineering decisions.
  • Understanding of what good looks like for a high-performing team of engineers.
  • Ability to coach people to achieve their goals.
  • Natural ability to inspire and motivate a team.

Monzo offers:
  • Base salary range between £101k - £140k (depending on experience) + stock options & benefits
  • Flexible working with no company mandate on how often to come into the office.
  • Remote within the UK (with ad hoc visits to London office).
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Learning budget of £1,000 a year.
