Job Description
Monzo is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their Legal team, focusing on Employment, Incentives & Pensions (EIP) matters. The role involves providing legal advice and commercial solutions on EIP matters impacting the Monzo Group. The Senior Legal Counsel will work closely with the People, Reward, Risk & Compliance, and Finance teams, as well as senior Legal team stakeholders. This position offers opportunities for growth as the business scales in the UK and internationally.
Role Involves:
- Providing strategic employment legal advice on EIP matters.
- Collaborating with the Director of Legal EIP and other legal counsel.
- Advising the People team on policies and procedures.
- Managing contentious EIP legal matters.
- Supporting international projects in the EU and US.
- Developing internal frameworks and processes.
- Delivering training and sharing insights on EIP matters.
- Managing relationships with external legal counsel.
Requirements:
- Experienced employment lawyer with 6+ years PQE.
- Excellent technical grounding in employment law.
- Experience advising on employment-related regulatory issues in financial services.
- Experience advising on incentive structures and pension arrangements.
- Strategic thinker with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable operating at all levels of the organization.
- Dynamic and entrepreneurial approach.
