Clara is seeking a Legal Counsel to support the financial backbone of Latin America’s most ambitious companies. The company is the leading B2B spend management platform in the region, used by over 20,000 companies. Clara's all-in-one solution combines locally issued corporate cards, bill pay, financing, and a powerful SaaS platform. The Legal Counsel will provide legal advice to internal and external business clients, manage relationships with external counsel, and develop data privacy policies.
Role involves:
Providing legal advice to internal and external business clients.
Managing work and relationships with external counsel.
Developing and implementing data privacy policies and programs.
Supporting the development and implementation of legal strategies.
Interacting with clients to explain legal and regulatory aspects.
Managing communications from the Brazilian Central Bank.
Partnering with cross-functional and regional teams on legal matters.
Collaborating with the Global Legal Team in LatAm.
Ensuring compliance with Brazilian Central Bank’s regulations.
Analyzing and interpreting laws/regulations.
Responding to extrajudicial notifications and investigations.
Partnering with the collections team for legal strategies.
Requirements:
2-5 years of legal practice.
Experience in Financial law, Corporate law, commercial law, Technology Regulation, and Conflicts of law (International law).
Preferred experience at a startup or tech company.
English (written and spoken).
Spanish preferred (written and spoken).
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Highly organized with excellent research and communication skills.
