Freelance Game Systems Designer

Job Description

Cleo is seeking a highly skilled Freelance Game Systems Designer to join their Gamification Ventures team. The ideal candidate will be a Founding Member, pivotal in crafting and refining game systems that enhance user engagement and monetization through gamification within the Cleo app. This role involves working iteratively to develop engaging progression systems, in-app currencies, re-engagement loops, and rewards, fostering habit formation and increasing user interaction.

The Freelance Game Systems Designer will collaborate with product managers and designers to seamlessly integrate gamified elements throughout the Cleo app. They will also be responsible for testing and optimizing game systems based on user feedback and analytics to maximize engagement and effectiveness.

What this role involves:

• Conceptualising and developing comprehensive game systems aligned with Cleo’s strategic objectives.
• Collaborating with product managers and designers to weave gamified elements seamlessly throughout the Cleo app.
• Creating adaptable game mechanics and reward systems that evolve with the product and user needs.
• Being the advocate and in-house expert on how and when we add juice and game-feel to the Cleo app.
• Continuously testing, refining, and balancing our game system based on user feedback and analytics.

Requirements:

• Extensive background in game design, especially in mobile and social gaming contexts.
• Deep understanding of game mechanics, in-app economies, and user engagement strategies.
• Experience in rapid prototyping and iterative design processes.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
