Monzo is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their team and contribute to their mission of making money work for everyone. The role involves collaborating within a squad of diverse professionals to build and support various parts of Monzo's banking platform. Role Involves:
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including product managers, marketers, designers, and other engineers.
- Building and supporting specific parts of the Monzo platform.
- Working within collectives such as Core Banking, Business Banking, Wealth, and more.
- Using technologies like Go, Cassandra, Kafka, Kubernetes, and AWS.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in backend development.
- A product mindset with a focus on customer outcomes and data-informed decisions.
- Comfort working in ambiguous environments.
- Interest in distributed systems and resilient software.
- Experience with strongly-typed languages (Go, Java, C, Scala, etc.).
What Monzo Offers:
- A base salary of £97,000 - £130,000 plus stock options.
- Relocation assistance to the UK.

- A learning budget of £1,000 per year.
