Job Description
GitLab, an open core software company, is seeking a Manager of Revenue Accounting to lead revenue recognition processes and drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting knowledge, process improvement expertise, and leadership skills. This role involves collaborating with various teams and championing the use of AI and automation tools.
Role involves:
- Reviewing and approving customer contracts for proper revenue recognition.
- Leading the monthly financial close.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation for audit and SOX compliance.
- Identifying automation opportunities across quote-to-cash (QTC).
- Implementing best practices to enhance workflow effectiveness.
- Leading and mentoring the revenue accounting team.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of revenue accounting experience in a SaaS, technology, or subscription-based company.
- CPA certification strongly preferred.
- Strong ASC 606 expertise.
- Proven track record in process optimization and system implementation.
- Strong mentoring and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Exposure to quote-to-cash systems (e.g., Zuora CPQ, Ironclad, or similar).
