Job Description
GitLab is seeking a Product Design Manager to lead the design for its Security Risk Management (SRM) stage within the Security & Compliance section. This role involves leading a team to create solutions for GitLab’s application security testing tools and AI-powered vulnerability management. The Product Design Manager will oversee design across Security Insights, Security Platform management, and Security Policies groups, helping organizations build secure applications while reducing risk throughout the software supply chain.
Role involves:
- Proactively identifying strategic UX opportunities.
- Driving cross-product initiatives.
- Organizing user research efforts.
- Reviewing UX deliverables and providing feedback.
- Communicating the value of UX.
- Prioritizing UX initiatives.
- Leading UX Scorecard initiatives.
- Contributing to product direction conversations.
- Hiring, growing, and retaining a team of designers.
Requirements:
- Experience managing a remote team of designers.
- Strong understanding of application security concepts.
- Experience designing dashboards and workflows for security data.
- Familiarity with security scanners like Checkmarx, Snyk, Wiz, Palo Alto, and Veracode.
- Experience designing products that balance security with usability.
- Experience defining high-level strategy and creating design deliverables based on research.
- Experience driving organizational change with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Solid visual awareness and understanding of design principles and accessibility.
