Technical Writer

Job Description

GitLab, an open core software company, is seeking a Technical Writer to enhance the clarity, correctness, and comprehensiveness of their product documentation. The Technical Writer will manage the docs.gitlab.com site, its content, processes, and tooling. This role involves collaborating with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to continuously improve GitLab's documentation.

The Technical Writer will contribute to one of the world's largest open-source projects and engage with the wider community. They will also participate in company-wide events and improve team processes and style guides.

What this role involves:

• Continuously improve GitLab documentation content.
• Work on Quarterly OKRs to enhance the docs site experience.
• Peer review other writers' work.
• Improve team processes and style guides.
• Participate in company-wide events.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience writing software documentation in a docs-as-code approach.
• Hands-on experience with Git.
• Experience using AI tools in technical writing workflows.
• Exemplary writing and editing skills.
• Experience working remotely.
• Experience working in a highly collaborative environment.
