Job Description
GitLab, an open core software company, is seeking a Director of Regional Sales to lead a dynamic sales team within the Enterprise AMER vertical. This role is crucial for supporting existing and new clients and driving GitLab's growth. Reporting to the AVP AMER West, the Director will be responsible for hiring, developing, and leading a high-performing team of Strategic Account sales personnel to meet and exceed sales goals.GitLab is the most comprehensive AI-powered DevSecOps platform for software innovation, trusted by over 40 million registered users and more than 50% of the Fortune 100.What this role involves:
  • Managing software sales, bookings, and revenue of a sales team.
  • Analyzing market dynamics to maximize existing successes and create new sales growth opportunities.
  • Preparing forecasts, territory/industry management, and growth plans.
  • Educating the team on industry factors, competitive products, regulations, trends, customer needs, and pricing.
  • Establishing and reporting on metrics to measure team performance and correct deficiencies.
  • Ensuring the sales plan aligns with the corporate revenue goal.
  • Recruiting and hiring top talent.
  • Managing a team of 5-8 Strategic Account Leaders and fostering a positive team environment.
Requirements:
  • 7-10 years in management with a proven record of Enterprise Sales Management selling to Enterprise clients.
  • Experience selling to Fortune 500 companies.
  • Experience managing teams and selling similar types of software and SaaS solutions.
  • Passion for open-source software.
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in field sales, operations, and leadership in an open-source software or software DevOps environment.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance objectives.
  • Experience utilizing CRM and marketing automation systems (e.g., Salesforce, Clari, Marketo).
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Strong presentation and executive-level communication skills.
  • Ability to use GitLab.
