Job Description
GitLab is seeking a Director of Regional Sales (Strategic Accounts) to lead a dynamic sales team and drive growth in the Southern Europe region. This role reports to the Area Vice President of Southern Europe and is crucial for achieving GitLab's growth objectives. The Director will be responsible for hiring, developing, and leading a high-performing team of Strategic Account Executives.
Responsibilities:
- Leads and executes best-in-class sales strategies.
- Expands the client base within the territory.
- Maintains strong relationships with key decision-makers.
- Analyzes market dynamics to maximize sales growth opportunities.
- Drives the transformation to a solution-selling approach.
- Prioritizes customer adoption and consumption.
- Leads efforts to explore and execute verticalization.
- Prepares forecasts, territory/industry management, and growth plans.
- Educates the team on industry factors and competitive products.
- Establishes and reports on metrics to measure team performance.
- Manages a team of 5-10 Strategic Account Executives.
- Hires, coaches, and develops top talent.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in field sales, operations, and leadership in open source software or software DevOps environment.
- Experience selling to Fortune 500 companies.
- Experience leading field sales teams using MEDDPICC or similar sales methodology.
- Strong solution selling experience.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance objectives.
- Experience utilizing CRM and marketing automation systems (e.g., Salesforce, Clari, Marketo).
- Strong relationship building and negotiation skills.
- Strong presentation and executive-level communication skills.
- Alignment with GitLab's values.
- Ability to use GitLab.
- Ability to travel if needed.
