Job Description
Interwell Health is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join their team and contribute to structured projects, focusing on supporting the model development team. The Actuarial Analyst will analyze data to identify trends in medical care costs and support IBNR calculations. The role involves analyzing data, making informed assumptions, and effectively communicating insights to stakeholders. This is an exam track role, and selected candidates will be eligible for Actuarial Student Program.
  • Ensuring data integrity throughout the reporting lifecycle.
  • Implementing reporting and reconciliation workflows and document processes.
  • Conducting experience studies and medical trend studies.
  • Running queries and providing analysis to understand related drivers (medical cost and utilization).
  • Supporting financial reporting and operations.
  • Performing research and collection of data, including data mining and reporting.
  • Developing and testing interim solutions and managing basic process changes.
  • Automating manual reporting and analysis of business implications and trends.
  • Developing revenue and medical claims expense models.
  • Performing in-depth claims analysis of baseline and ongoing contract monthly data.
  • Conducting profitability analysis and drill-down analysis into actual expected variances.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 0-3 years of related analytics or actuarial experience.
  • Completion of 2-3 SOA exams towards achieving ASA designation.
  • Proficiency with database administrative tools such as SQL, Azure, and SAS.
  • Experience with project management tools like Jira.
  • Analytical skills with tools such as Databricks and Excel (including Power Query and Power Pivot).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
