Monzo is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead multiple teams and managers within the organisation. The role involves expanding and building new squads, with direct reports including Tech Leads, Senior Engineers, and Engineering Managers. The Senior Engineering Manager will be responsible for the technical and delivery outcomes of their area, supporting and developing engineering talent, and fostering an inclusive team environment.

Role involves:

  • Delivery and Execution: Taking accountability for delivery across squads, collaborating with Technical Leads and Product Managers.
  • Engineering and Operational Excellence: Fostering a high bar for engineering excellence within teams.
  • People Leadership: Managing Engineering Managers and leading orgs of around 20 engineers.
  • Technical Influence: Partnering with senior engineers to drive technical initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Building strong stakeholder relationships with other teams.
  • Organisational Wide Impact: Collaborating with the wider engineering organisation.

Requirements:

  • Experienced manager with a strong technical and delivery background.
  • Previous experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience directly managing at least 2-3 Engineering Managers and leading orgs of around ~20 engineers.

Monzo offers:
