Job Description
Monzo is seeking a Senior Staff Backend Engineer to join their Customer Operations team. This role involves providing technical leadership across multiple squads, collaborating with product and data leaders, and solving complex optimization problems at scale. The engineer will contribute to high-level planning, lead architectural discussions, and mentor other engineers.

Role Involves:
  • Partnering with the Engineering Director and providing technical leadership.

Requirements:
  • Track record of technical excellence in delivering resilient systems.
  • Experience in solving human + tech problems at scale.
  • Technical leadership experience across multiple teams.
  • Quantitative mindset with data-informed decision-making.
  • Comfort working in a cross-functional team with ambiguity.
  • Experience with Machine Learning and large language models.
  • Demonstrable experience working with stakeholders.
