Job Description
Recursion Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Vice President of Translational Computational Biology to set the strategy and drive the implementation of connecting data from genome-scale -omics platforms with population- and patient-derived genetics. This role involves leveraging advanced analytics, including ML/data science, to identify novel biological and chemical hypotheses and validate those insights as they progress through the drug development funnel.Recursion Pharmaceuticals is looking for someone to:
- Identify and set the strategy on technological and analytical advances in the computational biology field.
- Mentor teams to develop technologies to address specific questions.
- Collaborate with research-oriented teams to evaluate new technologies.
- Lead the strategy and implementation efforts to identify optimal disease and patient linkages to -omics phenotypes.
- Contribute to the strategy for the collection of patient genetic and biomarker data in clinical trials.
- Collaborate with groups in discovery biology, chemistry, and data science.
- Guide teams of computational biologists and data scientists in executing the strategy.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage high-performing teams.
The ideal candidate should have:
- 7+ years of experience applying expertise in computational biology.
- Experience working in partnerships with both wet-lab and computational components.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple project teams.
- A track record for pairing large-scale patient/population datasets with high-throughput in vitro functional genomics.
- Experience in developing and implementing patient stratification / precision medicine solutions.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Curiosity and the professional skill-set to excel in a collaborative environment.
