Cybersecurity Engineer

Beyond Finance is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join its growing security team in Chicago. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the company's security posture for its cloud infrastructure and responding to critical incidents. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about cybersecurity.

What this role involves:

• Monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security alerts and incidents using Datadog, Wiz, and other security tools.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for interactions with the Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP).
• Collaborating with internal IT teams to implement and refine cloud security measures.
• Conducting regular vulnerability assessments and assisting with penetration testing coordination.
• Maintaining detailed documentation of security incidents and remediation steps.
• Providing security insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in cloud security, with direct experience utilizing SIEM tools such as Datadog, Crowdstrike and Wiz.
• Experience setting up alerts for internal issues and crafting internal policies.
• Previous experience working closely with an MSSP, handling escalations, and coordinating responses.
• Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., CIS, NIST, ISO 27001).
• Knowledge of incident response methodologies and cybersecurity best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex security incidents.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Security Specialty) are highly desirable.
