Job Description

DoiT is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their EMEA engineering team, focusing on the PerfectScale platform. This role is remote-based in the UK, Ireland, Estonia, Netherlands, Sweden, and Spain, with consideration for contractors in Eastern Europe and Portugal. DoiT is a global technology company specializing in cloud solutions, helping organizations optimize their cloud infrastructure for growth and efficiency. The PerfectScale platform is a Kubernetes optimization and management solution designed for DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering teams.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, the candidate will work on core backend solutions, powering the PerfectScale data pipeline and business logic. They will collaborate with product managers and developers from other teams, contributing to product decisions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with product, DevOps, backend, and frontend engineers to deliver solutions for complex problems.
  • Implementing features from proposal through design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Writing clean and maintainable code using engineering best practices and performing code reviews.
  • Improving the health of the codebase and addressing technical debt.
  • Providing feedback during team planning and discussions to identify challenges early.

Requirements include:

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • 6+ years of backend development experience (Go/Java/Rust/Python).
  • 3+ years of commercial Golang experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with high traffic/high load distributed systems and data pipelines.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including performance/schema/query optimization (ClickHouse and Postgres are a plus).
  • Experience developing enterprise-grade SaaS products, microservices, and containers (Docker).
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps frameworks and best practices (Docker, K8s, GitOps, CI/CD).
  • A knack for benchmarking and optimization.
  • Proactive, can-do approach with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-organized, goal-oriented, and self-motivated.
