Job Description
Seso is seeking a Payroll Operations Lead to manage payroll processing operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. Seso aims to modernize the back-office for farms, offering a comprehensive HR platform.
The Payroll Ops Lead will work out of the Monterrey, Mexico office and report to the Head of Payroll Ops.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Payroll Clerks, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including intake of time cards, payroll statement generation, and system uploads.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with payroll regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
- Review and validate payroll data to minimize errors and discrepancies before processing.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
- Maintain payroll records, update employee data, and generate payroll reports.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on payroll-related projects.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or senior payroll role.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax deductions, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- High degree of technical literacy, with expertise in spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets).
- Experience working with payroll software and systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team while maintaining a hands-on approach to payroll processing.
