Data Engineer

Job Description

VGW, an interactive entertainment company, is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Technology team in Krakow. The Data Engineer will be responsible for delivering and maintaining data products, supporting product teams, and ensuring high-impact data products. This role involves building, shipping, and running data solutions.Role responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining data platforms.
• Working with product engineering stakeholders.
• Building and optimizing data pipelines.
• Identifying and implementing pipeline automation.
• Ensuring data pipelines are reliable and secure.
• Advocating for a data-driven culture.
• Maintaining up-to-date documentation.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science or 3+ years of equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Databricks, or Snowflake).
• Proficiency in relational SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, DynamoDB).
• Strong knowledge of software engineering concepts.
• Exposure to Data Warehousing Modelling (Dimensional, Data Vault 2.0).
• Experience in implementing ETL best practices at scale.
• Hands-on experience managing large-scale object storage.
• Experience with AWS cloud data services (EMR, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, Glue etc.).
• Experience with streaming and batch data processing (Spark, Flink, Kinesis, Kafka) is a plus.
