Senior Software Engineer (Identity Decisioning)

Job Description

Affirm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Identity Engineering team. This role is focused on building and maintaining high-availability, low-latency systems for consumer onboarding, authentication, and verification. The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate with product management, design, and analytics teams to deliver quarterly goals, address technical issues, and ensure system reliability.

• Owning and delivering quarterly goals for the team.
• Collaborating with product management, design & analytics.
• Identifying and solving project, process, technology or business issues.
• Supporting the operations and availability of team artifacts.
• Fostering a culture of quality and ownership.
• Helping develop talent on the team.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
• Experience developing highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience defining a technical plan for the delivery of a significant feature or system component.
• Proficiency in making significant changes in a large code base.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
