Job Description
Affirm is seeking a Senior Counsel, Product to join their Legal team. This role will focus on supporting the servicing and underwriting lifecycle for payments and BNPL loans. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to engage in a wide range of projects. Affirm is on a mission to change consumer finance by offering honest financial products.
What this role involves:
- Counseling Affirm’s Business teams on consumer financial services laws and regulations.
- Advising on financial regulatory requirements such as PSD2 and AML/KYC.
- Supporting Affirm’s origination and servicing of loan and payment products.
- Providing strategic advice regarding EU consumer finance and protection laws.
- Monitoring legal and regulatory developments in consumer lending and servicing.
- Drafting terms and conditions and disclosures.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of related business, government, or fintech experience.
- Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years PQE.
- Expertise in the consumer credit lifecycle.
- Experience in Payments, Consumer Credit, Banking, or BNPL.
- Strong project management, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
