Director, Product Design

Affirm is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead the Direct to Consumer design team. This role is pivotal in shaping the financial experiences of millions of users by developing new products and enhancing existing ones. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore new design languages, evolve the brand, and deliver personalized experiences.

Role involves:

• Managing and developing a team of product designers and design managers.
• Fostering a creative, collaborative, and high-performing culture.
• Translating qualitative and quantitative inputs into a clear design direction.
• Communicating recommendations and strategy to stakeholders.
• Guiding the team to develop best practices for high-quality design.
• Collaborating with product management, engineering, and other teams.
• Defining and communicating the design strategy and vision for the company.
• Recruiting new designers and contributing as a designer when necessary.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience leading design teams and driving creative solutions.
• A portfolio showcasing the ability to inspire stakeholders and ship compelling product experiences.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• A user-centered design approach.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Experience building high-quality design teams.
• Strong knowledge of design and collaboration software (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, G Suite, Asana, Notion).
