Narrative Designer

Job Description

Metacore, a mobile game company known for Merge Mansion, is seeking a Narrative Designer to join their team in Helsinki. The Narrative Designer will be responsible for shaping storytelling experiences, implementing narrative elements, designing cutscenes, and bringing characters to life through dialogue and cinematic moments. The ideal candidate will blend technical and creative skills to create engaging player experiences.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing engaging story content and maintaining narrative consistency.
• Designing and implementing narrative elements in Unity.
• Collaborating with content designers to implement story content.
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation for narrative systems.
• Optimizing narrative content through documentation and flows.
• Contributing to narrative design discussions and brainstorming.
• Supporting Quality Assurance and bug fixing.
• Managing localization needs.
• Collaborating across disciplines.

Requirements include:

• Extensive experience as a Narrative Designer in the game industry.
• Strong knowledge of Unity and experience creating in-game cinematic cutscenes.
• Proficiency with Timeline, Animation Controllers, Object Animations, Addressables, and Prefabs.
• Ability to write engaging dialogues for diverse character voices.
• Experience implementing narrative components such as audio, VFX, and character animations.
• Experience with version control systems (Git).
• Understanding of cinematography.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines.
• Proficiency in English with excellent communication skills.
• Passion for games and crafting compelling narrative experiences.
