Job Description
OpenTable is seeking a Mid-Level Android Engineer to join their growing UK engineering team in London. This role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence two days a week. The successful candidate will help build amazing experiences for millions of diners worldwide, focusing on UI and UX. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the Android app and contribute to the technical roadmap. OpenTable is part of Booking Holdings, Inc.

The role involves:
  • Shaping the technical roadmap and architecture of the Android app.
  • Building new features for diners to discover restaurants.
  • Supporting marketing campaigns by extending deeplink capabilities.
  • Crafting user interfaces for restaurant discovery.
  • Developing experiences for millions of diners.
  • Improving the team by sharing knowledge.
  • Using data insights and A/B tests to validate products.

The ideal candidate should have:
  • An empathetic mindset and enjoy collaborating with developers, designers, and product managers.
  • Experience with integrations like Firebase and attribution SDKs.
  • Comfort working with both Android and server-side code (Java).
  • Experience building and maintaining a scalable, modern, and performant Android app.
  • A value for testing to ensure a great user experience.
  • An appetite for continually refining the end-user and developer experience.
