Senior Counsel

Job Description

ShopMy is seeking a Senior Counsel to be their first in-house legal hire. This role involves owning key legal functions across the business as it scales rapidly. The Senior Counsel will advise leadership on strategic decisions and protect the brand and its people. This is an opportunity to build a best-in-class legal foundation at the intersection of tech, commerce, and creator marketing.Responsibilities include:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Providing legal advice across departments.
• Supporting corporate transactions.
• Ensuring compliance with privacy and advertising laws.
• Advising on IP strategy.
• Providing guidance on employment law matters.
• Managing potential disputes and litigation.

Requirements:

• J.D. from a top accredited law school and active bar membership (NY preferred).
• 6+ years of legal experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house roles at high-growth companies.
• Strong command of commercial contracts, privacy law, IP, and corporate governance.
• Experience in e-commerce, SaaS, tech, or creator economy environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A builder’s mindset.
