Build Systems Engineer - Turborepo

Job Description

Vercel is seeking a Senior Build Systems Engineer to join its CI/CD - Turborepo team. This role focuses on enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and developer experience of Vercel's build and deployment systems, including open-source tools like Turborepo and the Vercel CLI. The engineer will support both internal teams and the developer community.Role involves:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining Turborepo.
• Enhancing the performance and reliability of CI/CD on Vercel.
• Improving developer experience for large and small codebases.
• Staying updated with industry trends in CI/CD technologies.
• Engaging with the open-source community.
• Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant experience and 1+ years writing Rust code.
• Experience designing and maintaining APIs and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend development tools.
• Understanding of challenges in building and orchestrating other engineer's code.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team.
• Opinions about architecting scalable codebases.
