Technical Lead - Front End

Job Description

Vercel is seeking a Front End Lead Engineer Consultant to join its Professional Services team. The candidate will lead Next.js projects for clients, pushing web performance and user experience boundaries. They will architect and implement scalable solutions leveraging Next.js, from server-side rendering to edge computing, while mentoring teams and shaping frontend development.

What this role involves:

• Partnering with project stakeholders to plan, design, implement, test, and launch Next.js implementations.
• Leading technical discovery sessions with clients to understand their business needs.
• Coding complex solutions using Next.js, React, and modern frontend technologies.
• Mentoring and guiding client development teams in Next.js best practices.
• Staying at the forefront of frontend development by continuously learning and applying emerging technologies.
• Contributing to the internal knowledge base by documenting best practices and creating tutorials.
• Participating in pre-sales activities by providing technical expertise during client pitches.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with planning and executing front end migrations, modernizations or digital transformation initiatives.
• Expertise in Next.js, with a proven track record of architecting and delivering complex, high-performance applications at scale.
• Deep understanding of Next.js deployment and optimization, including experience with self-hosted solutions and cloud platforms like Vercel.
• Mastery of React and its ecosystem, including advanced state management techniques and performance optimization strategies.
• Proficiency in serverless architectures and experience optimizing Next.js applications for scalability and performance.
• Strong command of modern frontend tooling, including Webpack, TypeScript, and API integration (REST and GraphQL).
• Expertise in performance optimization and analytics, utilizing tools like Vercel's Speed Insights or similar platforms.
