VP, Inventory Planning and Optimization

Job Description

Rent the Runway is seeking a VP of Inventory Planning and Optimization to lead all operational aspects of the company's inventory. The ideal candidate will be passionate about connecting customers and fashion, possess strong analytical skills, and demonstrate a bias for action. This role involves strategic and tactical logistics, including inventory management, process innovation, and cost reduction.

The VP will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory life and utilization, maximize returns on inventory investments, and oversee the full cycle of inventory supply chain processes. They will also manage the inventory-related operations budget, monitor core inventory performance, and develop capabilities to support inventory performance over a multi-year horizon.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of inventory strategy.
• Optimize inventory life and utilization.
• Oversee strategy for full cycle of inventory supply chain processes.
• Act as key business partner for strategic cross-functional collaboration.
• Oversee the inventory-related operations budget and operating performance.
• Lead senior management routines to monitor core inventory performance.
• Develop capabilities and inventory initiatives to support inventory performance.
• Ensure that we attract, develop, retain, and engage high performing teams in each department

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Business Analytics or related field required; MBA preferred
• Certification in Operations, Inventory Management, or Six Sigma highly desirable
• Ten (10) or more years' experience in fashion and connecting analytical data to the customer experience
• Proven track record for innovation, execution and delivering results to drive a performance culture
• Ability to lead large teams towards the company’s vision
• Strong verbal/written communication and organizational skills
• Skilled at multi-tasking and managing competing priorities
