Job Description
The Orchard is seeking a part-time College Marketing Representative in Seattle. In this role, the individual will promote artists that The Orchard distributes by implementing digital and in-person marketing strategies on campus and in the local community. The representative will act as a tastemaker, collaborating with local businesses, record stores, DJs, and campus organizations to host listening events, organize campus activations, and create social media content. The role involves:
- Creating awareness of The Orchard’s artists by building relationships with influencers.
- Maintaining a local social media presence to promote artists.
- Implementing in-person marketing initiatives.
- Researching appropriate apps, forums, and networks for the target demographic.
- Attending local and campus events to promote artists.
- Attending artists' shows to distribute promotional materials and gather feedback.
- Submitting detailed reports on marketing successes.
Requirements include:
- Undergraduate student enrolled in a 4-year university in Seattle with at least 2 years left.
- Ability to manage own hours and be accountable for assigned work.
- Passion for music and understanding of music consumption trends.
- Understanding of social media marketing and active presence on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
- Availability of 20 hours per week.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Transportation and residence within 30 minutes of Seattle.
- Flexible schedule for team conference calls and tour coverage.
