Server Automation Engineer

Job Description

Rush Street Interactive is seeking a Server Automation Engineer to join their Engineering Delivery Support team. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for building the tools, workflows, and infrastructure that empower backend engineers to deploy code confidently, scalably, and securely. This role focuses on improving reliability across the engineering organization by working at the intersection of CI/CD systems, cloud infrastructure, and developer workflows.Responsibilities include:

• Designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Improving CI/CD reliability and speed.
• Standardizing tooling and workflows.
• Operating and evolving containerized deployment systems.
• Collaborating with platform teams to manage multi-cloud environments.
• Owning and extending infrastructure-as-code frameworks.
• Implementing secure handling of secrets and environment configs.
• Supporting secure and compliant delivery.
• Designing systems and documentation to empower engineers.
• Building internal tools to accelerate engineering work.
• Driving a culture of operational excellence through automation.

Requirements include:

• Deep hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD systems.
• Strong command of Kubernetes internals.
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code and configuration management.
• Experience designing and scaling delivery systems in complex, cloud-native environments.
• Strong grasp of secure deployment principles, secret lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to debug across the entire stack, communicate clearly, and collaborate across teams.
