Pharmacy Technician - Prior Authorization Specialist III

Job Description

Arizona Liver Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Prior Authorization Specialist III. In this role, the technician will assist patients in obtaining specialized medications for liver disease, including securing authorizations and exploring financial aid options. The technician will work closely with patients, payers, and pharmacies, managing prescriptions from order to delivery.Responsibilities:

• Assuring all PA requirements are complete.
• Facilitating labs/immunization completion for patient payor compliance.
• Interacting professionally with patients, peers, and other outside vendors as required.
• Training new pharmacy staff on organizational processes and compliance procedures.
• Managing pharmacy software for patient compliance with treatment.
• Supporting comprehensive coordination of commercial, Medicaid and/or Medicare pharmacy services.
• Evaluating, authorizing approval, and communicating decisions for pharmacy requests.
• Maintaining accurate and complete documentation.
• Processing requests in compliance with laws, CMS regulations, and company policies.
• Communicating with payors, external pharmacies, patients, and case managers.
• Escalating requests to Nurse Case Manager when needed.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in pharmacy prior authorizations.
• Previous super-tech experience.
• Experience with pharmacy operations.
• Experience assisting in preparing detailed policy and procedures for accrediting agencies.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Intermediate to expert-level data entry skills.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPhT Certification and Arizona License in good standing required.
