Staff Software Engineer

Job Description

Workato is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Engine team. This role involves developing and maintaining the Workato Recipe runtime, focusing on performance, scaling, and data protection. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Golang and/or Ruby and eager to learn additional languages. • Building, extending, troubleshooting, and fixing complex Golang and Ruby applications.
• Designing and implementing system-wide solutions with a focus on quality and scalability.
• Providing technical leadership and communicating complex concepts.
• Designing and delivering APIs for REST endpoints, Go packages, and Ruby gems.
• Integrating data storage solutions like Postgres, Redis, Kafka, S3, and ClickHouse.
• Providing code reviews.
• Evaluating and proposing system improvements.
• Learning platform-wide components and understanding service communication.
• Working remotely with distributed teams.

Requirements include:

• 7+ years of experience in building scalable distributed backend applications.
• Excellent understanding of distributed systems patterns and algorithms.
• Great understanding of web application building blocks.
• Excellent understanding of network protocols and DB technologies.
• Multilingual programming experience in Ruby or Golang.
• Experience with public cloud infrastructure providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
