Forward Deployed Engineer

Job Description

Vannevar Labs is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join their mission teams. In this role, the engineer will serve as the field "CTO" for the mission team, working directly with members of national security. The engineer will be responsible for the architecture, development, and deployment of software solutions that support specific customer missions. This involves meeting with customers, scoping projects, and implementing software solutions.Role involves:

• Engineering and owning software solutions deployed to customers.
• Building software to unlock value within data holdings.
• Writing code to improve products and scale capabilities.
• Collaborating across interdisciplinary teams.
• Traveling up to 20% of the time to meet with mission owners.

Requirements:

• 4+ years as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
• Experience building and owning features end-to-end.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.
• Experience with OpenSearch or ElasticSearch (Nice to have).
• Experience with AWS or similar (Nice to have).
• Experience with data science, machine learning, and/or data visualization (Nice to have).
• Experience with web frameworks and platforms such as React, Node, Redux, Apollo, or similar (Nice to have).
• Active U.S. Security Clearance (Nice to have).
