PRN Psychiatric Nurse I (LPN) or II (RN)- Walk-in Crisis Center

WellPower is seeking a PRN Psychiatric Nurse I (LPN) or II (RN) to join their Walk-in Crisis Center team in Denver. This role involves providing clinical services within a multidisciplinary team environment, focusing on psychological problem identification, crisis intervention, and case management. The nurse will coordinate care with other clinical staff and psychiatrists, administer medications, and maintain clinical records. Responsibilities include:

• Providing psychological problem identification and crisis interventions.
• Offering limited case management services.
• Assisting consumers with psychological and social development.
• Coordinating the use of WellPower programs and community resources.
• Coordinating medical care with clinical staff and psychiatrists.
• Monitoring vital signs and administering medications.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records.
• Participating in team meetings and supervisory sessions.

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Colorado RN or LPN licensure.
• 1-3 years of experience working with consumers with mental illness preferred.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed principles and practices.
• Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately.
• Familiarity with the DSM IV and diagnostic techniques.
• Effective communication skills.
