Product Owner / Associate Product Manager

Preservica is seeking a Product Owner to join their team on a one-year fixed-term contract. This role is based in Abingdon, UK, and offers a hybrid work arrangement. The Product Owner will play a crucial role in shaping the future of digital preservation technology by contributing to the development of commercial software solutions. The responsibilities include championing customer needs, collaborating with a distributed team of engineers, designers, and agile delivery leads, and defining, building, and delivering functionality that aligns with customer needs and business goals.

The role involves:

• Owning one or more product areas and understanding customer needs.
• Gathering detailed requirements through collaboration with design, internal stakeholders, and users.
• Working with the sprint team to refine requirements into user stories and set goals.
• Collaborating closely with the tech lead and agile delivery manager.
• Managing and prioritizing the product backlog to maximize value delivery.
• Inputting into the roadmap in collaboration with the product manager.

Requirements:

• Interest in understanding the product and customers.
• Proven experience as a product owner in an agile, product development team.
• Experience with planning techniques like user story mapping.
• A hands-on approach to working with developers and testers.
• Degree level education in a related subject or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills and the ability to present to stakeholders.
