Job Description
Overjet is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the development of AI-driven dental imaging software. This role involves leading distributed teams and driving product initiatives to improve oral health. The Director will play a key role in shaping the future of dental care by working on innovative AI technology and developing a world-class engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Build and scale high-performing engineering teams across global locations.
- Drive alignment between engineering, product, and architecture teams.
- Define and implement engineering best practices and technical standards.
- Lead organizational planning and engineering operations.
- Maintain technical credibility by contributing to the codebase and participating in architectural reviews.
- Foster a collaborative, agile engineering culture.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- 5+ years of management experience, building and scaling engineering organizations of 15+ people.
- Experience building 0-1 products and scaling mature platforms.
- Experience implementing engineering processes that balance quality, innovation, and delivery velocity.
- Experience leading cross-team engineering efforts.
- Hands-on experience in full-stack development.
- Strong knowledge of SaaS architecture and cloud infrastructure (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS).
- Familiarity with Java, Python, JavaScript, Docker, Kubernetes, RESTful APIs, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
