Labor Economist, Media Spokesperson

Job Description

ZipRecruiter is seeking a Labor Economist and Media Spokesperson to join their Economic Research team. In this role, the individual will analyze labor market trends and present critical insights to the media and public. This is a 6-month contract position with potential for full-time conversion.Role involves:

• Publishing research and translating complex data into understandable takeaways.
• Conducting original research on job search, hiring, and labor market trends.
• Analyzing and interpreting labor market data through econometric modeling.
• Navigating media interviews and delivering insights to various audiences.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop research ideas.

Requirements:

• A graduate degree in economics, public policy, or a quantitative field.
• Experience as a media spokesperson.
• 5-10 years of experience in statistical and economic analysis.
• Strong storytelling and communication skills.
• Knowledge of econometrics and multivariate statistics.
• Experience with Stata or R, and preferably also Python.
• Experience with data access and manipulation tools such as SQL.
• Experience preparing working papers, reports, and media-ready content.
