Job Description
ZipRecruiter is seeking a Labor Economist and Media Spokesperson to join their Economic Research team. In this role, the individual will analyze labor market trends and represent ZipRecruiter in media interactions. This is a 6-month contract position, with the potential to transition into a full-time opportunity at the manager level.
Role involves:
- Publishing research and translating complex data into understandable takeaways.
- Conducting original research on job search, hiring, and labor market trends.
- Analyzing labor market data through econometric modeling and data visualization.
- Navigating media interviews and presenting insights to various audiences.
- Collaborating with internal teams to develop research ideas and analyses.
Requirements:
- A graduate degree in economics, public policy, or a related quantitative field.
- Demonstrated experience as a media spokesperson.
- 5-10 years of experience in statistical and economic analysis.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills.
- Knowledge of econometrics and multivariate statistics.
- Experience with Stata or R, and preferably also Python.
- Experience with data access and manipulation tools such as SQL.
- Experience preparing working papers, reports, and media-ready content.
