Job Description
ShipBob is seeking an Area Manager to lead and develop a team of leads and associates in their fulfillment center in Fort Worth, Texas. This role is pivotal in driving process improvement, ensuring a safe work environment, and tracking operational performance. The Area Manager will collaborate across departments and shifts, contributing to operational and cultural excellence.
Role Involves:
- Managing and developing a team of 30+ warehouse associates.
- Reviewing weekly work forecasts and identifying productivity requirements.
- Partnering with other Area Managers to balance labor.
- Owning operational metric reporting.
- Identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Ensuring teams are properly trained and motivated.
- Developing Lead talent.
- Fostering employee engagement onsite.
- Reviewing and approving associate timecards.
- Serving as the contact for escalated issues.
- Supporting all safety programs and OSHA compliance.
- Complying with all food safety and compliance policies/regulations.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of people management and operational leadership experience within a high-volume 3PL fulfillment environment.
- Preferred experience in ecommerce, retail, and manufacturing industries.
- Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, General Management or a related field, preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and experience tracking and achieving KPIs.
- Basic understanding of Lean and Six Sigma.
- Ability to manage performance, deliver feedback, train and develop talent for professional growth.
- Ability to make decisions of quality under pressure.
- Comfortability to navigate and manage ambiguity.
- Ability to align and plan with business stakeholders.
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts and non-traditional hours as needed to support business operations.
