Job Description
Lightspeed is seeking a Portfolio Manager, Lending to join their Financial Services team in Montreal. This role involves assisting with yield optimization, financial risk strategies, and market expansion for the Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) portfolio. The Portfolio Manager will report to the Director, Lending Portfolio Management, and will be responsible for assessing risk, managing the MCA loss reserve fund, and ensuring compliance with servicing policies and procedures.Responsibilities include:
  • Identifying opportunities to gain market share and evaluating partnerships
  • Creating off-balance sheet financing optionality and setting the business on a path to securitization
  • Monitoring the performance of the MCA portfolio and managing relationships with various departments
  • Negotiating legal agreements with investors and preparing executive summaries for the board
  • Implementing credit loss and fraud prevention solutions
Requirements:
  • 6+ years in strategic finance, capital markets, or banking
  • Understanding and experience in setting up and operating forward flow programs
  • Knowledge of modeling approaches for business financials
  • Practical understanding of data science and SQL
  • Experience working with global stakeholders
