Lightspeed is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join their team in Montreal. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the growth and development of Lightspeed's Hospitality product group, focusing on building an advanced, modular users and permissions framework. This role involves collaborating with a team dedicated to enhancing engineering practices and implementing advanced technology.

What this role involves:

• Collaborating with industry experts to enhance the omnichannel product.
• Contributing to the AWS-hosted, microservice-based platform.
• Balancing new feature development with maintenance of existing integrations.
• Reporting to the Development Team Lead and interacting with Product Managers and Designers.
• Participating in agile ceremonies and advocating for code quality.
• Fostering team growth through knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

• Outstanding Java knowledge with 5+ years of production experience.
• Expert knowledge of the Spring framework.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience in automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in English with effective communication skills.
